I finished Mirabilia’s Siren and the Shipwreck last night and just LOVE how she turned out.
Her colors are so beautiful and that chandelier is so full of beads that make it sparkle so beautifully when the light hits it just right. If you click on the second picture, I swear it looks like the chandelier is lit up! I am so happy for this finish. Can’t wait to get her framed and then I will have to find a place to hang her. I stitched her on 16 ct Aida Under The Sea by Sunny Dyes Fabrics.

Thank you Johanna. She was probably the most relaxing, easy, sweet stitch that I have done. Maybe it was all the silk threads, I really like stitching with them. Could there be a silk conversion in my future? I can’t wait to see your model in the magazine. I know it’s going to be beautiful.

Hello there! I have been inspired by your mermaid and am going to create her myself. I will use the same fabric as yourself. Can you tell me how big did she make up when you did it on the 14 count? I am having difficulty working out how much bigger she will be on the Aida. Or is it the same? Thanks in advance. Ann

Hi Anniedreams! I am glad I have inspired you. I do believe that the dimensions on the pattern are wrong. The pattern says the design area is 13.75 x 16.25 on 32 ct. I stitch on 16ct, so it would be the same, but stitching over 1. When I do the match, it says the design area should be 9 x 16.38. I went and measured my actual stitching, and the design area is approximately 9 x 17. So for 14ct, the design area would be approximately 10.08 x 18.75 inches. I hope this helps. Happy Stitching!
