Good Things are Happening in June

Hello my blogging friends.  It has been a busy month for me.  I don’t know if you know, but I am a demonstrator for a company called Stampin’ Up!.  I teach people how to create their own greeting cards and scrapbook their memories with stamps.  April 3, 2016 marked 15 years as being a demonstrator.  And on June 1, 2016 I reached $200,000.00 in career sales. It may not mean anything to most, but for me, these are  2 goals that I wanted to meet,  and I did.  And within months of each other.  And June 1, 2016 was the launch of the new Stampin’ Up! catalog, so I have been busy making new samples and planning a New Catalog  Open House which I had on Saturday.

The Open House went well and everyone that attended had a great time seeing new products, creating a couple of cards using new products and getting freebies.  Now I can get back to a normal kind of routine 🙂  I also had another exciting thing happen this month.  On June 1, I received an email from a company called Stamp N Storage that my new craft room photos had won May Studio Showcase!  I won $75 which I chose as store credit because there are 2 more storage items that I want for my craft room.  You can read about my craft room win and see phots here.  I LOVE their storage units.  My room looks a little different even now, because I keep moving and adding things to better suit my stuff, LOL.  Once I get the last 2 items I will take a couple of more photos for you.  Hopefully that will be the end of rearranging.  I am having fun creating in my new space.  It is my own little piece of happiness 🙂

I have been so busy, and I had 2 little vacations in the middle of everything, that I haven’t been able to do much stitching. During vacation time I didn’t stitch at all!  Seven straight days with no stitching.  I thought I was going to lose my mind! This last week I finally had some time to stitch a couple of nights. But I was only able to put in 12-25  stitches before my eyes drooped too far to see anymore.  But here is how I left Aphrodite last night (my best stitching day in a long time 🙂

Aphrodite progress

Not a whole lot more added since my last post about her, but every stitch counts, right?  I am hoping to stitch a lot more this week. So sorry I have been out of touch, but what have you been working on lately?  I’d love to see 🙂

  1. Congrats on your making 2 goals! Your stitching, as well as your boards & display look great, too. Wish I had had the time to come. Between graduation & Father’s Day, it was not possible. Glad all turned out well. Hugs~

    1. Thank you, Joanne. I have ordered my last 2 storage pieces (for now 😉 and as soon as I get them I will take and post pictures. Aphrodite is going to be gorgeous when I finish her. Just need to get past the tail and shell and I think the waist up will go much faster. I hope you get to start her soon.

  3. Ginny, congrats on the big win!!!! Very impressive. I’ll go read all about it. 😀

I did not know you were a stampin up salesperson. Every time I see scars I really like in one of my magazines, it seems supplies are from that company. Amazing milestones you have got, that is great. You deserve a quiet day of stitching as a reward.

    1. Thank you, Salpal1. Maybe I will take tomorrow to stitch all day 😉 Today has been spent on the computer. Hours and hours! It’s a black hole! LOL You mean cards in magazines? Stampin’ Up! has amazing stamps and products. Thanks for visiting my blog and taking the time to read about my win 🙂

      2. Yes, by all means! I would love to see what you make. My craft room is still completely disorganized, so I haven’t sewn nor made a card in ages, you might inspire me to clear it up and get cracking! Luckily, I can spin and knit even if there are no clear surfaces and there is furniture that belongs in other rooms stored in the craft room. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Christine. It does and it doesn’t seem like 15 years. I really can’t see my life without stamping and scrapbooking by day and stitching by night 😉 I get very cranky when I don’t get to stitch, so I’m trying really hard not to let that happen again 🙂

I always love reading your blog and seeing what you have been up to. I dont stitch as much as you do, but I find your work and blog and photos a true inspiration for me to get on and try lots of pretty things.
Looking forward to seeing more photos of your work.

      1. 🙂 Thank you.
I totally agree with you. Blogging is great. I never thought I would be a blogger, specially at my age. 🙂 Always imagined it more for the younger generations with lots of tech savvy, but I am learning new things every day and keeping up.
It a lot of fun. Best part is making friends all around the globe. 🙂

  8. Hi Ginny! Congratulations! I’m so excited for you. I heard of Stamping up! and, the last thing I heard about it was that they went out of business or they took a time off? I’m not sure, I can’t remember what I read when I visited their website months and months ago. But now, reading your post I see that it’s still going. I’ve been curious about it and, during that time I found out that they were not available, I wanted to find out more information about it. Hugs!

    1. Thank you, Latin Stitcher. Stampin’ Up! has been going strong for about 30 years now. I don’t think they have ever gone out of business. Shelley and her sister owned the company and very early on the sister dropped out. Now Shelly and her daughter are running it and it is doing great. they have expanded into several countries and thriving. I LOVE their products and the new catalog that just launched on June 1 is the best one yet!

  9. Your stitching is beautiful! How do you find time to get it all done? My blog is taking the “hit” of not getting attention right now because there are things I want to do. Thanks for your inspiration.

    1. Thank you, Susanssnippets. Oh my blog also suffers. I don’t get on and post as often as I’d like to. I dedicate my evenings to stitching because that is my relax time for “me”. I will stitch anywhere from 4-5 hours a night. Sometimes I get time on the weekends, too. My days are filled with household stuff and stamping and business stuff. I don’t always get to do what I want when I want to, but I do get very cranky when I don’t get to stitch. You just have to do what you can when you can and whatever you don’t get to you have to let go 😉 Hard to do sometimes, but I am learning.

  10. Many congratulations, Ginny! I read your newer post too, and it looks like you’re all set to decorate your craft room with your creations. 🙂 Keep the wonderful pixies coming!
Your posts always remind me to pick up my unloved, in-progress cross stitch work. I still only manage a few stitches when I work on it. At this rate, it’ll be years before I finish, lol…

    1. Thank you, Anita. I am hoping to do a small pixie in between finishing my larger projects. It would be nice to get back to one project at a time. Having a lot of projects going really drives me crazy. I know it works for some people and that is good. And if I get to one project, I may need to take a break from it and start a new one. I think it’s great that you are giving love to your old projects, even if it is only a little love. Every stitch counts 😉

      1. What would one call a ‘small’ pixie… 🙂 Can’t wait to see it!
Focusing on a single project or depending on multiple ones to maintain one’s focus – I’m always for doing whatever keeps one motivated and happy. There’s no right or wrong way here anyway, right?
Thank you for the encouragement. I do agree – some love is better than no love. 🙂

      2. The pixie’s are about 5 x 7 in design size. Way smaller than the bigger projects I usually work on. And you are right; there is no right or wrong way to stitch or how many to stitch, just as long as you stitch happy 🙂 So, always have happy stitches 🙂

  11. Congratulations, Ginny! 😀 On hitting 2 of your goals and for having 7 stitch-free days straight! That’s no easy feat! XD I can go a day and a half without touching yarn or a hook/needle, but by the end of the second day something juuuussst doesn’t feel right XD XD Great job! ❤

    1. Thank you, Paardje. I get really cranky when I don’t stitch and by the end of day 7 I thought I was going to go mad! I did have other things to keep me occupied, though 😉 I have stitched quite a bit on Aphrodite in the last few weeks and will post an update picture soon 🙂
