It’s been a busy summer so far, but I have still managed to fit in the things I love to do. Over the weekend I picked up this little beauty from my local needlework shop, Stitches N Things, where I had her framed by Juanita, at Way Cool Mats:
I love her! The frame is perfect for her. She is Blossom Collector by Nora Corbett. I stitched her on a One of A Kind fabric from Fantasy Dyed Fabrics, 16ct Aida. And she is even up on the wall in my craft room, along with Queen Anne’s Lace.
I can’t wait to see what Pixie I will do next…I have lots of wall space. I have been purchasing fabrics from Fantasy Dyed Fabrics for all of the pixies I want to do. Just look at all the beauties:
I have 2 more that arrived since this photo and 3 more on the way. All but 2 of the fabrics have plans to have something stitched on them. Just love her fabrics and can’t wait to see what pixie will get my attention next. But it won’t be before I finish Aphrodite. Here is my progress on her:
The shell seems to be taking me forever! I did some major stitching on it yesterday but it still seems far from finishing. But I am determined to finish her before switching to another project or starting a new one. Once I get past the shell, I am hoping going upwards will be much faster.
And since a few of you have asked to see some of my stamped creations, here is one of the make N take cards I had at my Stampin’ Up! Open House a couple of weekends ago.
So that is what I have been up to lately. What is taking up your time these days?
Love your room, framed fairies & card! Have a good weekend.

Thank you, Marilyn. The frame really does make the fabric and the pixie just pop right out. I am still working on Aphrodite’s shell. I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, though 😉 Stamping and scrapbooking are my other passions after stitching 😉

Thank you, Susanssnippets. You definitely should try a pixie someday. They really go pretty quick and it is a nice break from a large project, like the stocking 😉 You will get it finished. I have faith in you 🙂

Blossom is so cute! Can’t wait to see which pixie you start next! Aphrodite is coming along, but she is certainly a big one. Beautiful card by the way. Me? I’m busy dyeing fabrics {wink}. AND stitching when I can.

Very nice! And they look great on your wall. Can’t wait to see what you make on all those pretty fabrics. 🙂 I love the card, too – how did you make the gold loops? Are they wire, or embossed onto the paper or what?????? Wish I lived close enough we could craft together!

Thank you, Salpal1. I am enjoying looking at my pixies while in my room crafting 🙂 It would be so fun to craft together. I would like that. The gold loops on the card is a very fine gold thread that Stampin’ Up! sells. It also comes in silver, black and copper. It’s fun to wrap a few times around the fingers, pull off and attach to the back of cut out or die cut image, with a dimensional, or foam tape. This holds it in place and still allows you to fan out the loops as you wish. You can see more of my creations on my website and blog at http://www.ginnysplace.stampinup.net or on my facebook page – Ginny’s Place, Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. Glad you liked the card. It was a spin off of a card that is in the new SU! catalog.

Thank you, Fawn. I want to work on getting some WIP’s finished, so the pixies may be slow coming. I am making great progress on Aphrodite, though. So maybe as a reward when I finish her, I can start a new pixie. So many hobbies…must keep busy 🙂

Thank you, Angela. It is my sweet place. I love crafting in it. The pixies are just too sweet not to love. I cannot wait to start my next one. Maybe after I finish Aphrodite. I have been collecting hand dyed fabrics from Fantasy Dyed Fabrics for many Pixies. I can’t take credit for the framing. I just picked out the frame. Juanita, from Way Cool Mats is the magic behind the framing. She has done almost all of my framings and I have never been disappointed. Can’t wait to see your pixies 🙂
