Beading Has Begun

I have finally started beading mermaid!  This is just a tiny fraction of the amount of beads that will end up being on this piece.

I had a heck of a time fitting that star treasure on her bikini top, in between all of those beads.  I should have added it first.  But I am not pulling all of those beads out, so it will just have to be a little crooked.  Here are some close-ups of the beading.

She is starting to look more sparkly 🙂

Since we woke up to more snow this morning and are expecting even more today, I have decided to stay in and bead on mermaid 🙂  Here are a few snow pictures of what we have outside 😛

snow-day

Our neighbor and hubby “admiring their shoveling and plowing” 🙂  And my cute buddy, Thor watching them.

Thor sure loves to play in the snow.  As long as hubby keeps throwing it, Thor will keep trying to catch it.

So I am off to bead on mermaid on this cold, snowy Saturday.  What are your plans for today?

  1. Well you still have more snow then I do, which is very sad 😭 Canada 🇨🇦 is supposed to have lots of snow ❄️ but sadly all we are getting is very cold windy weather. Anyway today I had work and after work I went Christmas shopping, now since I’m worn out with going store to store I have decided I would sit back and relax with my cross stitch magazine. Have fun doing more beading and by the way I think it is looking beautiful and the star in the middle of her bikini is not off at all I think it really makes the piece come out.

    1. So sorry to hear that you are sad without snow. I would happily pass all of our snow on to you if I could. The world has been experiencing all kinds of weird weather patterns the last couple of years. I do hope that Mother Nature can get back on track soon. Glad to hear that you were able to get some shopping in. It really can wear you out, all that looking for the perfect gifts and all. What magazine are you relaxing with? Thank you for your sweet comments about my mermaid. I’m sure the star will look great in the end when I can finally look at the entire piece all finished.

      1. Well at least there is some snow on the ground so it makes it a little better. The magazine that I always like to get is “The world of Cross Stitching” I haven’t gotten it in almost a year. I usually don’t like to buy myself something so close to Christmas but I just could resist when I saw it. And I can’t wait to see the finished piece!

  2. Beautiful bead work Ginny! I love how the details on the mermaid’s face shows up so nicely. And the hair is just beautiful. I think the star looks great. Can’t wait to see the finished piece 🙂 Have a happy New Year! (Oh and, by the way, I changed my blog’s title. It used to be Latin Stitcher; remember me? :). I switch to another host, bought the domain name, and migrated all of my posts).

Yes, I do remember you. Thank you for telling me you switched blogs. I didn’t realize before. Happy New Year, to you. I hope it is an awesome one for all of us, with much love and happiness.
