She sure is a beauty! And so many beads!! I didn’t think I would ever get done the beading. I am happy to finish her and before the new year. In case you haven’t been following this one, it is called Journey Into the Deep, by Passione Ricamo. I stitched her on 28ct Lugana Pixie Dust from Silkweaver. If I were to do her again, ( I never will ) I would switch the size 8 clear beads to the same size seed beads as the white ones. There was no way I could fit the number of beads called for in the pattern. I have 2 packages of clear beads left and 1 package of white beads. But I am pleased at how she turned out and so happy to have stuck with her to the finish.
I would love to look back and show you a slide show of my 2016 finishes, but sadly, I am not that good with the computer. And since I am creating this post on my Surface, I really have no clue ;).
So as I look back on 2016, I am pretty happy with what I have accomplished. I already have a list of things I want to accomplish this year. Not only stitching and crafting, but other things in my life. I have been trying to think of my word for 2017 (Thank you Fawn for the reminder) and the one word that keeps coming to mind is DECLUTTER. There are still several rooms and the garage, and many nooks and crannies that I need to go through and get rid of things I no longer need or have a use for. But also to use the things that I have, especially when it comes to my crafting. So that is my one big goal for 2017 as well as the usual lose weight, make good choices, be a better person… Time for me to get things ready for my next cross stitch project. I am planning on starting it at midnight tonight. I will share it with you soon.
So as we get close to the end of 2016, I want to wish all of you a wonderful, happy, healthy and productive 2017.
She is so beautiful, and so pretty on that fabric.
I love this piece.
Great job.
Happy New Year!

Thank you, Marilyn. I am over the moon to have finished her before 2017. She is quite large, so framing will have to wait a while. Happy New Year!

Just beautiful. I love the little sea horses. What an accomplishment…are you going to keep her for yourself?
Happy new year to you xx

Thank you, Nicola. The little sea horses and fish are so lovely. I am quite selfish with my stitching, so yes, I plan on keeping her. Happy New Year!

Happy new year Ginny! Oh she truly is a beauty. You did a great job! I’m sure you will choose a great frame for her and she will look even more awesome. I purchased a Passione Ricamo’s chart recently and I want to start it some time this new year. I have the threads but I need to get the beads.

I got the Prosperity Fae. I loved that pattern ever since I came across it in their website. They have so many beautiful ones, it was hard for me to decide. I think my next one will be “Romantic Stitcher”.

She is so very beautiful, Ginny! Having only done limited beading I cannot imagine the time involved for that in addition to the hours spent on the stitching. My hat is off to you. 🙂 Have a very happy new year!

Thank you, Susansnippets. Beading is one of my favorite parts of stitching. But on this one, I could not wait to get done. It took me a little over 2 weeks to bead! I am happy she is done and now I can move on to a new project. Details coming soon 😉

Thank you E.C. She is a beauty and I am quite taken with her. She is laying across the chair in my living room so I can admire her for a while before putting her away. I am slowly going to take the year to declutter my house. I had started last year a little bit, but so much more needs to be done. All the best to you in the New Year, too 🙂

Thank you, Carole. I am in awe of just how big she is. She is probably the biggest piece I have done and definitely the one with the most beads. I definitely deserve a new start, and I started at midnight last night. I will post about it soon. Happy New Year!

Thank you, Notewords. I am enjoying looking at her laying on my couch. Pretty soon I will have to tuck her away until I can afford to get her framed. She will be quite pricey with her size.

Ginny she is beautiful and you have done her proud. I can’t stitch that tiny these days and need the light to see anything. I am with you in ‘decluttering’. I started just before Christmas and mean to go on and do more – especially using my craft stash more. Just getting started again after a long-ish absence due to illness. Happy New Year Ginny to you and yours. 🙂

Thank you, Mogsya. It was a struggle to keep going with her at times. The light 28ct fabric drove me crazy, looking for the holes. But I am happy I stuck with her and finished her. My eye doctor made me a special pair of glasses, just for my stitching. A bifocal type with magnification on the bottom to see my stitching and my prescription at the top for watching tv, I could not stitch without them and LOVE them. Good luck with your decluttering and using products. I am going to try real hard to use up my stuff and declutter this year. Happy New Year!

This is one magnificent piece. You need to be so proud of yourself, for sure! How big is she? It’s hard sticking to such a big project! I need to reupholster the chair I have whined about now being done for years. That will declutter a big area for me. Congrats on your accomplishment! & Happy New Year~~

Thank you, Marsha. I am glad I stuck with her to the end. She is pretty big. I have her laying on the couch, at the top and she hangs down to the edge of the cushion. Pretty big. I remember you talking about reupholstering a chair. You will feel so good when you get it done. Happy New Year!

Thank you, Joey. She was quite the challenge with all the beading. I am so happy I stuck with her til the end and I can cross a WIP off of my list and in 2016, too! She is still laying on the couch, waiting for me to put my initials in (finally found a good spot) and then she will be rolled up and put away until I can get her framed.
