So Many Projects!

Hello my blogging friends.  Happy March!  Can you believe February passed us by so quickly?  Spring has to be just around the corner for my neck of the woods, though we had a bit of Spring last week with one day reaching 70 degrees!  In February!  Usually a month when we are covered in snow that doesn’t start to melt until that first week of nice spring weather.  So what have I been up to?

ella-progress-2

I have been slowly stitching on Ella.  But that gap at the bottom of the dress is getting close to finishing!  So excited about that.  Then I can move my scrolls up.  I was working on Ella while waiting for my Sullivan thread order to come into my LNS.  Thanks to a wonderful stitching friend, I will be able to continue on my Mystery Sampler possibly tonight 🙂

Yep, a wonderful stitcher in the Mystery Sampler SAL group offered to send me 3 skeins of London Fog so that I can continue stitching.  I am hoping to pick it up tonight, if not tonight, then on Sunday.  Thank you so much, Heather.  You are a sweetie!

And did you happen to notice the cute scroll covers on my scroll frame?  Yep, I had to buy a new bag and covers to fit this project.  Let me show you a better picture.

My new Deanna bag and grime guards.  They have little birds and Eiffel Towers on them.  And the lining is a beautiful pink!  Love them!!  If you are interested in Frame covers or bags for your scrolls or Q-snaps, check her out at Deanna’s Frame Covers and Storage.  She is awesome.

I have also re-started my Temperature blanket and it is going much better.  I switched to all half double crochet, since that is easier for me to keep track of the stitches.  Though I have already lost 4 stitches somewhere.  Probably in the ends, but I am not going to worry about it.  Carole gave me a tip:   put a marker in my last stitch, so I know where to put my hook when I turn.  It has helped tremendously.  Thank you, Carole.  I am on row 25 so far.  I am not too fond of the colors, but it is winter.  I can’t wait to get to some happy colors.

Just look at all those yummy colors I will be getting to someday 🙂  All Stylecraft DK yarn.  Love working with this yarn. So soft and doesn’t split when I crochet or knit. I still have a lot of catching up to do.  Row 25 means that is the 25th of January.  I should see some nice color changes when I get through February.  As I said in the beginning of my post, we have had some nice, spring like temps.

And lastly, let me show you some pretty fabrics I received last week:

more-fdf-fabrics

Sorry about the sideways photo.  But they are beautiful any way you look at them. All are from Fantasy Dyed Fabrics.  So pretty!  I had plans to use the one on the right for Mirabilia’s Snow Queen, but it is a bit too small.  I didn’t have anything in mind for any of them when I bought them.  I am sure I will find something wonderful to put on all of them some day.  If you would like to see more of Fantasy Dyed Fabrics, check out her facebook page and Etsy shop.  She posts new fabrics at least once a week, but I will warn you, they sell out almost immediately.

At the end of this month, my little old blog will be 5 years old!  I can’t believe I have kept up with it for 5 years!  Not as much as I would like, but as much as I can.  And it has been so much fun and I have met so many wonderful people. So watch out for my next post.  I will be posting a give-away to celebrate my 5 wonderful years 🙂

Well, that is about all I have to share today.  I am also getting ready for a scrapbook fundraiser that I give a make n take class at, twice a year.  As you can see, I have just a little going on, and can you believe that I want to add a few more projects to my ever growing list?  But not until at least next week 😉  So how many projects are you juggling these days and are they all the same hobby or all different hobbies?  I’d love to hear all about them.

  1. Well happy 5th anniversary!!! 🎉 Anyway I love the progress on Ella, so much yellow, by this point I think I would have had it become a WIP already so great job on staying with it. I haven’t done too much crafting since my last update, but I hope to do a lot more on the weekend. Happy stitching! 😁❤️

    1. Thank you, Ivyjade234. I can’t remember if I started Ella in Jan 2015 or 2016, but either way she has been a WIP for some time now. And I may have just put her aside again. Last night, to work on the Mystery Sampler and I really want to continue with it. It is so relaxing! I do hope that you can get back to crafting something soon. Enjoy your weekend also.

      1. I would probably have to do that too if I had such a nice sampler to work on. I really like that you choose to do variegated thread on it. And yes I’m hoping I can get a lot more crafting done on the weekend, plus maybe get wifi to my new place so that I can make an update. 😁❤️ Have a happy weekend and enjoy your crafting time.

    1. Thank you, Marilyn. I have already sent Ella to the curb 😦 The Sampler had the louder voice this time, LOL. I am sure I will pick Ella up again soon. I am so close to closing that gap of yellow at the bottom of her dress! The FDF fabrics are so beautiful. Johanna does a great job of coming up with gorgeous fabrics. I can’t wait to stitch on another one.

  6. Hi, Ella sure is coming along so nicely. Soon she will have a whole dress, which is huge and gorgeous. So much patience to get all those yellow stitches done.
Wow, what a great friend Heather is! I adore that sampler, and the London Fog is perfect for it. Keeping my eyes on that one for progress.
I guess it must be pretty much Spring in your part of the world, as there is no snow around. How very nice. We are still very much enjoying warm weather and rain, no sign of Fall just yet.
Have a great crafting week and enjoy! 🙂

    1. I have already set Ella aside, but I keep thinking that I am almost done the bottom of the dress! I don’t think it will be too long before I have her pulled out again. Thanks to Heather, I am back stitching on the Sampler and enjoying it immensely! Not Spring here yet, as there is a little snow on the ground from last week. Saturday was so cold, heavy coats and gloves were back on. Today is supposed to get to 55, so it will feel a little like Spring is on the way. But in my neck of the woods, we really don’t say it’s Spring until mid April and then head right into Summer. We have had lots of snow and ice storms in April, so I am holding my breath that we can get to Spring soon without Mother Nature getting angry 😉 Enjoy your warm weather for now. Though Fall is a wonderful season, too. Enjoy your week and happy crafting!

      1. Your stitching is stunning, and I love the sampler so much. It is just beautiful. I love the London Fog, and can not get over how well it looks in the sampler. Awesome.
Wow, still a bit chilly there at times, just enjoy the warmer days each one as they come around. Makes them worth it even more.
Happy crafting and stitching this week. 🙂

  7. Your projects are all looking wonderful Ginny 🙂 I’m so pleased you were sent more thread to save waiting for more supplies. Such a kind gesture. You’ve just reminded me to download the next stage of the Mystery SAL so thank you for that. I’ve got three cross stitch and one knitting project on at the moment, not counting finished quilt tops that need to be quilted.

    1. Thank you so much. It was so sweet of Heather to send me those threads and I have been stitching on the Mystery Sampler ever since. Sounds like you have a good handle on your projects. I’ll be very happy when I can get mine down to 4. But it’s never going to happen if designers don’t quit coming out with patterns I just can’t wait to get started on! Enjoy all of your projects.

  8. What interesting work! Unfortunately, I have not done cross-stitching for a long time. Already more than a year is an unfinished picture. After reading your post, I wanted to get it out of the drawer and continue working. Or is it spring!? …

    1. I think you should dig that project out and see if you have the want to work on it again. I have a project that I started in the nineties. I have worked on it now and then but I haven’t worked on it for several years now. It’s still in the back of my mind to finish and it is on my list of WIP’s that I want to finish. I know it will come into my rotation when it is supposed to and I will be happy to get back to it and to get it done. So I say go for it 🙂

  9. Ella and the Mystery Sampler are really coming on. The London Fog threads are gorgeous, as is the material you have chosen. Thank you for introducing Deanna to me in a previous post. I am now the proud owner of two lovely project bags and grime guards.
