Yesterday was my 5 year anniversary of this little ole’ blog of mine! Wow, how time does fly! I can’t believe it has been 5 years. And I have had so much fun and have met so many wonderful people and have been introduced to so many awesome blogs. So thank you for visiting me over the years and if you are new to my blog, welcome. I hope to spend many more with you.
So to celebrate, I have a couple of give-aways! Yay!!! The first is a cross stitch give-away. Cross stitch is my passion. And my favorite thing to stitch is mermaids 🙂 So, I have a mermaid pattern from Nora Corbett. And you can’t have a pattern without a hand dyed piece of fabric. And I have a beautiful piece from my favorite dyer from Fantasy Dyed Fabrics. It is a piece of 28ct Monaco and is plenty big for just about anything, sized at 20 x 25.
The second giveaway is a knitting project. A scrumptious ball of sock yarn called Poems Sock yarn by Wisdom Yarns and a pattern for a Trellis Garter Lace Scarf.
All you have to do to be entered for the giveaway is leave me a comment telling me what is your most favorite or treasured craft project that you have made, and which giveaway you would choose; either the cross stitch or knitting. I’m not sure I can pick a favorite, but if I had to choose one, it would be definitely be a mermaid 😉 I am just not sure which one at the moment. I will draw 2 names on March 31, 2017.
I do have some updates on my current WIP pieces, but I will post about them tomorrow 🙂 Until then, happy creating and Enjoy Every Stitch ❤
Happy 5th Anniversary Ginny! I have enjoyed your blog for most of that time I think. I will refrain from entering the drawing since I have a conflict of interest on the mermaid/fabric and I don’t knit! Just wanted to tell you congrats!

Thank you, Johanna. Yes, you have been with me since day 1. It was your blog layout that I was attracted to and found out about WordPress. That was not long after we met in a Round Robin. Wow, I can’t believe it has been 5 years since we have been best stitchy friends! Anyway, thank you so much for all of your encouragement on my projects and enabling me with all of your beautiful fabrics. I have so enjoyed these last 5 years.

Congratulations on your anniversary! My favorite would have to be cross stitch. I guess my taste have changed over the years. When I first began stitching (very young), I liked bears and animals. Now my taste runs more to people, scenes, etc.

congratulations, friend! I haven’t done any cross stitch in years, and have a drawer full of patterns and kits, so I had better go for the knitting! Even though the mermaid is so tempting! the project I am most proud of is my Estonian lace shawl – my first real lace project. I am proud of it because I persevered and finished it, which took 2 years…

Happy blogaversary! I think my favourite would be a Tunisian crochet rainbow blanket I made purely because it took me two years and I’ve never been a patient person so that was quite an achievement for me!
I’d be down for the knitting one. That yarn looks scrumptious.

Happy, happy 5th Blogaversary!!
And many more!!
My most treasured piece is a cross stitch piece of Blue Jays, it was a Dimensions kit.
I stitched it years ago fro my Mom, and when she passed away, I kept it.
She loved this piece and had it on her living room wall.
I don’t knit, but that yarn is gorgeous!
I would like to enter for the mermaid though, what a pretty design, and the fabric is too pretty also.
Thanks for the chance.

Happy 5th anniversary!! My favorite right at this moment is a goldwork butterfly. It was the first time I ever tried goldwork and I loved it. I’m a horrible knitter, but I would love to enter for the mermaid. I haven’t stitched one of Mirabilia’s mermaids and the fabric looks gorgeous.

Hi Ginny, Happy Anniversary. I think one of my favourite projects would be the Christmas stockings I’m making for my children, there partners and now the grandchildren 😊 I always admire your mermaids & would love to stitch one . ( I would post you a photo of 3 of them but I don’t know how ) xxx

Happy blogaversary! That fabric looks perfect for the mermaid pattern. The yarn is also pretty, but I think my knitting stash is alrady much bigger than my stitching one so I would choose the mermaid.
I’m not sure what my favourite stitching project is, but a strong contender is Stone Roses, which was the first Mirabilia I fell in love with. It is still waiting for a frame 15+ years later, because I can’t decide exactly what I want!

Thank you, Sonya. Us crafters do know how to stash, don’t we? LOL Stone Roses is a beautiful pattern. I think you should go hang out at a frame shop and make some decisions and get her framed. You need to admire her beauty on a wall where you can see her everyday. Good luck and thank you for visiting.

Well happy 5th Anniversary!!! I am so glad you have continued your blog and even though I just started reading your blog a few months ago I love when you have an update on a project or just posting on things that are going on. I would have to say that I would love that mermaid cross stitch pattern. I love mermaids a lot and have kind of always wanted to do a cross stitch piece of one. I would have to say that my most treasured piece is the cross stitch piece I made for my best friend(it’s posted on my blog) I might not have it myself but I started cross stitching to give people something to show how much I care about them. The reason this piece is so special to me is because I always wanted to show my friend how much she means to me and how much our friendship means. Now she has it in her bedroom wall above her night stand. 😁❤️

Oh my goodness. Happy 5th Anniversary! I think if I have to pick one project it would be a little jacket that I made for my daughter when she was a baby. I’m still planning on making a birth sampler for her, but making presents for everyone has gotten in the way. So many birthdays so little time. Good luck to everyone in the giveaway.

Congratulations, 5 years already. Time sure flies when you meet new friends. Your cross stitches are always so beautiful and such an inspiration.
I love the sock yarn you have here, it looks super soft and light.
I think my favourite would be some of the shawls I have knitted over the years. Or else it must be the beanies I knit for my son in law. Seeing him wear them in the winter is such a good feeling.
Have a great week and enjoy. 🙂
Happy crafting.

Happy Anniversary Ginny! You always have encouraging words for other stitchers and I love to see your work. You get way more done than me! 😉
As far as my favorite project goes, I would have to say it was a 25th wedding anniversary sampler that I made for my parents in 1988. I was just entering high school and would go over to my grandmother’s house during the summer. She was a retired seamstress. She took me to the local LNS which was located in an A frame building. She bought me all the supplies and I would work on it every day. It was a very ambitious project that included stitching with Krenik metallic threads and sewing besides cross stitch! It surprisingly came out really nice and my parents still have it framed and hanging in their home.

No, I’ve never replaced them. It was my daughter who got me into cross sttich and we made cards etc and did craft fairs together. One day I will return to it but for now I’ve taken up mosaics…. and when I did cross stitch I never had a computer or the internet! LOL
