Hello Friends! 11 days ago I tore the meniscus in my knee, so I have not been able to do much. I see a orthopedic surgeon on May 1, so fingers crossed he can fix it. So, while sitting, I have been able to do a few finishes. First, I finished my Diamond Painting.
Sorry about the fuzzy photo. I was trying to stand on my one leg and capture the sparkly of the tiles. This was a wonderful, thoughtful gift from a dear friend. It is a photo I took right outside my front door a few years ago. It is a favorite of mine. I love how it sparkles and can’t wait to frame it. I have recently started a Diamond Dotz, which is the same concept, but the dots are circles rather than the square tiles in the Diamond Painting. I definitely think that the Painting gives a better coverage than the Dotz, but both are beautiful and sparkly. I am addicted 🙂
Next up is a scarf I knitted on the way to and from a mini vacation hubby and I took before I hurt my knee.
I love knitting this type of scarf in the car. It’s a no brainer. One more to add to my stash for gift giving 🙂 And one more skein of yarn out of my stash.
I also finished knitting this cowl:
I LOVE this one! The pattern was a bit tricky to follow as far as what rows to do, so I had to be careful where I was. In fact, in the beginning, I do think I left out a full 4 rows of a pattern, but it is not really noticeable. And when I wear it doubled up around my neck, no one will no for sure. It is knit with one ball of Ella Rae Season. Very soft and squishy and very easy to knit.
And lastly, I finally started the 2018 Mystery Sampler from Linen and Threads.
My fabric is a OOAK from Fantasy Dyed Fabrics and is more of a peach color with hints of gray. I am stitching with DMC 53 and Black and I absolutely love how the stitching looks on this fabric. It is weird how the lighter rows appear to be lines. I am not too sure about the black border yet, but that design really didn’t look well with the variegated thread. I tried it several different ways, but it just didn’t look right, so I decided to go with black. I probably should have went with a dark gray, but I am not ripping out now. I will add more black sections and hope to balance it out.
I have a couple of other projects I had worked on, but it is too difficult to get to them right now for photographing. So they will have to wait until they come back out. So, what are you stitching on today?

You are really becoming an accomplished knitter! Love your scarves. You can definitely blame me for getting you addicted to diamond painting! Your design came out beautifully! And it goes without saying that I love, love your sampler!

Thanks, Johanna. I have been knitting longer than I have been cross stitching. I just prefer to cross stitch more 🙂 I am definitely blaming you for my new addiction to diamond painting. I absolutely love that you chose one of my favorite photos. Once it is framed, I will always be able to look at it and smile and be reminded of you ❤ I am loving my sampler, too. You did a great job on the fabric 😉

Forced sitting is always hard when we are used to hopping up and doing things. But it is a good excuse to finish things!

I LOVE that ruffle scarf – how do I make one for myself? I love ruffles and I keep seeing that in red around my neck 😍 Beautiful!

Paardje, the yarn for those particular scarves is already ruffled. They are so easy to knit. I don’t have the name of the different yarns in front of me. I may have a skein of red in my stash if you wanted. I will check on it.

Thank you, Anita. It’s not as colorful as yours. I think I would stress myself out trying to figure out several colors, so I cheated and went with a variegated. I am liking it so far and hoping to get caught up soon. Probably not before the May section comes out, but I am looking forward to seeing what it is. I would love to see some mermaids, but that is probably not going to happen. I know there are people wishing for unicorns, so I can wish for mermaids, right?

Thank you for the well wishes, E.C. It has been a very slow process. I have seen the surgeon, who agrees that it is a meniscus tear, but wants an MRI. So that will be soon, then back to the surgeon and then surgery will most likely be scheduled. In the mean time, I get to stitch, and stitch some more 🙂

Thank you, Joey. I have seen my Primary doctor who sent me to an orthopedic surgeon, who agrees that it is a meniscus tear but wants an MRI to confirm before he does surgery. So that is scheduled for Sunday and then back to the surgeon to review the scans and then probably schedule surgery, Ugh. Hopefully it will all go well and be over soon and I can get back to walking well again. We actually skipped Spring, again. Went straight from 30 degrees to 83 degrees for several days in a row. Everything is turning green and the daffodil flowers are already blooming everywhere. Not in my yard. I have a very boring yard as I don’t have a green thumb. Not that I could kneel or squat to plant anything this year anyway. Someday I will have to hire someone to make my yard pretty ;). So, back to sitting and stitching for me 😉 Have a wonderful weekend 🙂

Surgery sounds very serious, but better to look after yourself and take it easy and be careful until you are mended again. One should look after oneself. I will keep my fingers crossed that all goes well, and the surgery too.
You will be off your feet for a bit, but I am positive you will still keep busy.
It definitely seems like summer on your side already. Sounds wonderful. Enjoy the lovely warm days. Cooler here now, and I wore gloves the first time this winter while coming to work this morning.

Thank you, Joey. I had my MRI on Sunday, so next step is back to the surgeon to see what the scans show and probably schedule surgery. I am trying not to get anxious about it. It has been a long process so far. I am still taking it easy since I live in a quad level house and I am supposed to be limiting my steps to twice a day. Very hard in my home. But I am getting some stitching in :). The weather looks beautiful out. I am looking forward to summer. Enjoy your cooler weather. Great weather for lots of knitting 🙂

Thank you, Christine. I had surgery last week, so I am recovering. It is slower going than I thought, but hanging in there. I will update my sampler soon. I am all caught up and just received the June/July section and it is amazing!
