Pixie Anne All Framed Up

I picked this sweet thing up from the framer this last weekend. I was really surprised at how small she is.  I think it is the smallest thing I have ever had framed!   I think the frame is awesome!  A little different than what I have chosen in the past, but I think it really sets Pixie Anne off beautifully.  I can’t wait for hubby to hang her in my craft room tonight.  I am having a problem picking exactly where I want to hang her. I have so much empty wall space to choose from 😉

In case this is your first time seeing her, she is Queen Anne’s Lace by Nora Corbett.  This pattern was in the April issue of Just Cross Stitching Magazine.  I stitched her on 16ct Aida Carmel Macchiato from Hand Dyed Fabrics by Stephanie.

Believe it or not, Queen Anne’s Lace was my very first Nora Corbett Pixie that I have stitched.  I don’t know why.  I have just about all of her Pixie patterns, but haven’t stitched any until now.  At one point I was going to stitch 9 of the flower pixies on an afghan.  I have since abandoned that idea since the beads would not be a good idea on a blanket and I just couldn’t stitch a pixie without all the beautiful beads and metallic threads.  I wonder which Nora Corbett Pixie I will stitch next???

    1. Thank you, Johanna. This is a much better picture of her than the one I texted you. It really shows her pretty colors. I just love the frame. It’s different. Has an elegant pattern, but not overwhelming. I will have to post another picture once she is hanging on the wall of my craft room.

  2. I love that frame. It turned out beautifully. It’s no secret from looking at my own blog that I love The Prairie Schooler. I have a stockpile of PS patterns to last me for decades! 🙂

  6. And there she is! She is stunning. I agree, the frame does it! Perfectly suited for the colour of the cloth and design. Picks up the tiny white stitches in the piece perfectly.
    I am sure she is going to get a very special place. Have fun. 🙂

  7. Queen Anne’s Lace is so pretty in that frame.
    I’m versatile, I don’t have particular designer or style that I like.
    I just stitch what appeals to me! 🙂
    But, crocheting, I seem to like scarves, cowls, and afghans the most.

    1. Thank you. I could never frame anything on my own. I’d never get it straight or taught. I definitely know when to leave work for the professionals 😉 And yes, Pixie loves coffee 🙂 I didn’t think anyone would notice the Keurig in the background. You are a smart one 🙂

  10. She is gorgeous and that frame is lovely. It’s a bit different to what you usually see used for cross stitch, but it suits Pixie really well.
    I have lots of designers that I like to stitch so I tend to do lots of different styles of projects. I do have a weakness for LHN and CCN though and have quite a few of their charts in my stash 🙂

    1. Thank you, Carole. The frame is not a style I would have normally chosen. I went there looking for a silver, ornate frame. But the choices the framer pulled out just seemed to overwhelm the small design. I didn’t want her to be swallowed up in a large frame. So when she pulled this one, I knew it was the one. Picking a frame can be such a hard job and I always wonder if it will look as good as I imagined. This one I definitely love. I have several CCN charts in my stash, too. Love the colors and the sweetness of their patterns. What is LHN?

  16. Wonderful pixie!!! Congratulations ))
    If pixies are so small in size, why don’t you try to stitch them in groups like you did with petite mermaids? You may try to stitch two or three pixies on one fabric and frame them up as one piece ))

    1. Hi, and thank you. That is a great idea! I had originally wanted to do an afghan with 9 flower pixies, but it is not in me to leave off the beads and metallic threads, but I am afraid they wouldn’t do well in the wash. I do have plans to do my own Pixie Round Robin, but only a portion of each design will be stitched. So much to think about!
