Blue Me Away Mani

It’s been a while since I posted my nails.  Here is my manicure from yesterday:

It’s Blue My Mind from OPI with Orly glitter on top.  Don’t know the name of the glitter, but it looks gold in the bottle, but silver on the polish.  It’s awesome.   I didn’t think Blue would be a color for me, but I LOVE it.  Thank you Nickie at La Bella Salon,  for knowing my nails so well 🙂

Sandy Nails

This morning I had my every other week manicure and I tried something new and fabulous!

liquid sand nails

This is Mariah Carey’s Liquid Sand polish by OPI.  This one is called “Can’t Let Go”. It is a matte finish polish, so no top coat. But there is a lot of  glitter in it to make up for shine.   And it feels kind of gritty, like sand. I think it’s pretty cool and I love the purple color.  There are 3 other colors in the line that I will have to try in the future.  Here is another photo:

I hope you can tell how neat looking this kind of polish is from my photo.  It’s very different but I love it!

My Holiday Manicure

I went and had my nails done yesterday.  I finally found one of the German polishes that I had been wanting so that is what I had put on my nails.

Every month is Oktoberfest nails snowflake on nailEvery Month is Oktoberfest is the name of the polish.  And Nickie added a little snowflake art to both of my ring fingers and topped them off with a little Creative Nail Disco Ball. Thanks Nickie.   Love it!  Come back later for a stiching share.

Fairy Progress and New Nails

Not much in the way of stitching, but I thought I would share my progress on August Fairy:

She has an upper body and some arms now.  I’m working on the upper wings and pretty soon she will have a face.  I am getting excited to get this finished and start the beading.  My goal is to get her done in 10 days so that I can get her to the framer.  I am hoping to meet that goal.

This morning I went to LaBella Salon  and had a quick polish change.  I think I have found my new favorite polish combination.  Here is what it looks like:

It’s OPI Black Onyx with a silver glitter called Disco Ball by Creative Nails (I think).  This will be great for all of the upcoming holidays.  LOVE IT! Thanks to Nikie and to the gal ahead of me who was flashing the same colors.

Thanks for stopping by.

Nail Polish Shelf

Look what my wonderful Hubby and youngest son made me over the weekend:

Isn’t it awesome?  I was quite smitten with K. Marie’s shelf after seeing it on her blog a few month’s back.  Ever since, I have been looking at thrift stores and garage sales for the “perfect shelf”.  About a month ago I went looking on the internet and came across a blog that showed how to create one out of foam core board.  I told hubby and my son about it and he whipped it up on his Ipod to show dad.  This last weekend they went out to Joanne fabrics and picked up the materials for about $15 and it took them about 1 1/2 hours from start to finish.  I honestly did not think that I had enough nail polish to fill the entire shelf, but as you can see, it’s pretty much full.  I have one empty spot in the bottom left shelf to add a new OPI  from the German line. Still not sure which one I want to purchase first…

So I went from this, plus my many favorites from the top of my dresser:

To this:

Love it!  Hubby says it’s full so I can’t buy any more polish.  What??  I think that there may be a few summer colors I can put away some where in order to make room for some new fall and winter colors.  Hehe.

Pink, Glitter nails

I have had this polish on for 2 weeks.  I wanted to post a photo last week, but didn’t get to it.  So, before I go and get my nails done today, I thought I would share what I am wearing:

I LOVE glitter polishes, but they don’t really like my nails.  I haven’t worn glitter for a while, but when my nail tech was wearing pink glitter nails 2 weeks ago, I couldn’t resist.  I wanted the paler shade of pink that she had, but it couldn’t be found.  So, we went with OPI’s Elephantastically  Pink, with Teenage Dream over it.  LOVE it!!  I had forgotten how sparkly Teenage Dream is.  I used to wear it alot, but I think that the wearing the glitter polish all the time (and letting them chip) was causing my nails to split apart in layers.  So now I only wear the thick, chunky glitter once in a while.  But I do love the sparkle.  I wonder what color I will get today???

Magnetic nails

I don’t have a stitching to share with you right now.  I have a few minutes before I have to go and wanted to post my latest nail craze.  Come back later today for RR stitch I finished over the weekend.  For now, here is my new favorite polish:

It is Sally Hansen’s Magnetic polish.  The polish is actually the lighter purple and when you use the magnet, it pulls out the darker color.  I LOVE this new concept and hope that the industries come out with more designs on the magnets.  Thanks for stopping by.  Come back later for a stitching post.

Angels · My nails

Guardian Angel

I was looking around my house to see what finished pieces I have not shared with you and I believe that this is the last hanging piece I have to share.

She is Guardian Angel by Lavender and Lace.  I finished stitching her on September 4, 1993.  I added the Bible verse to the bottom.  This one hangs in the hallway right outside my bedroom door.  She is beautiful and I need to stitch more of the Lavender Lace patterns that I have squirrled away.

I finally had a few minutes to add some stamping to my nails this morning.  I had them painted a week ago and they were in desperate need of a top coat.

They have grown out a little since my manicure last week and the tips are a little worn, but that’s ok.  I try to keep my polish on for 2 weeks as I hate going without.  I haven’t stamped them in a while and really have been itching to add something fun.  They are not perfect as I hurried to get them done before taking youngest son to drivers education, but they look cool.  And they are good for another few days before I add another layer of top coat.  This one’s for you K. Marie. If you get a chance, visit her blog A Stitcher’s Stitchings.  She is a wonderful stitcher and she does her nails really cool, too.
