Lots of WIPGO Stitching

Hello, my blogging friends. It has been a little longer that I had planned for this post. I have a done a lot of stitching and I am happy to report that I have been keeping up with my WIPGO goals so far. In my last post, I shared my January goals, Big City Christmas and Mistletoad. I still have not fully finished them, but I have plenty of time before the holidays come around again. I also told you that my fabric for the Letters that I plan on stitching, did arrive and was not the color I was looking for. So, I dove into stash and found some 16ct Aida in the color Artichoke that would work for the 4 letters that I plan to stitch. So, my WIPGO calls for February were 5 and 22.

Just a reminder that WIPGO is a fun stitching game created by Jessie Marie Does Stuff and she calls the numbers on the 25th of each month for the following month. My number 5 is Dancer Reindeer from Nora Corbett.

I am looking forward to getting all of the Reindeer and sleigh stitched up, slowly but surely. I am stitching them all on 16ct Aida Twilight Blue from Wichelt and using all of the called for threads and embellishments.

Dancer is finished ā¤ļø

I finished Dancer in about 2 weeks. He was a fun stitch and is so sparkly with all of those beads and treasures! So now I have two deer finished…seven more to go šŸ˜‰

Next up was the Letters from Nora, Letter L from Nora Corbett. I will be spelling out the word NOEL in individual letters and having them all framed seperately.

All of these letters are being stitched on 16ct Aida Artichoke and I have converted all of the thread and bead colors to Christmas colors. That was quite the process and I definitely applaud anyone who does conversions all of the time.

I can’t wait to stitch up the other letters and see how they look all together. Which brings us to the March WIPGO numbers:

I started with my #3 call, which is Home for The Holidays from Primrose Cottage.

I want to display this piece in my Dining room during the holidays, and that is my pink and gray room. So I have changed all of the Reds to pinks except for the cardinals.

I love how this turned out! I will be fully finishing this one on a red cupboard door, so it can actually go in any room. But I love all the pinks. So sweet!

This brings us to my last WIPGO call for March. The Letter Q from Letters from Nora by Nora Corbett. I am changing this letter to an O.

I am stitching this one on 16ct aida Artichoke and have changed all of the threads and beads to Christmas colors.

The little Christmas fairy looks so cute sitting on top of the letter.

So that is all of my WIPGO stitching through March. I have finished 1 Christmas WIP (works in progress) and started and finished 5 Christmas projects. The WIPGO numbers for April have been called and for April I get 3 projects because I chose to put a project in the FREE space. Two of my called numbers are bigger projects that will end up being WIP’s. The other number called is for the Letter N. I don’t have any set rules for stitching on my projects for WIPGO. Just to start them and get some stitching done on them. One of the bigger projects called is on my WIPGO board 4 times, so hopefully I will get some good progress on it by the end of the year. But I am happy with WIPGO so far and I already have 6 Christmas projects finished that I plan on getting fully finished and on display during the holiday this year.

I have also been knitting. I did finish my Stripes and Eyelets shawl, but I haven’t blocked it and don’t have any pictures handy. I will get those for next time. I did start knitting a baby blanket for a niece that is due this summer.

This is such a cute blanket and is knitted in the round. I have never knitted a baby blanket in the round. The pattern is from Sassafrass and I am using Pima Soft yarns from Berroco. I have to say that I LOVE stitching with this yarn! It is so soft and I think it is perfect for a summer blanket. This was a kit I purchased from my Local needlework shop some time ago.

This is where I am at with the blanket. I have just added the 4th color and it is looking so good!

So that is what I have been up to. I do have a couple of other cross stitch projects I have worked on and a BIG project that I have been kitting up for the last few months that I will share with you as soon as I receive the last of the beads that I have been waiting for. Tell me what you have been up to! I would love to hear about your projects. Oh! And I realized that last week was my 14 year Blogaversary! Wow!

Happy Stitching!

  1. Happy 14 year Blogaversary!

Those are some pretty projects, & Dancer is gorgeous!

The baby blanket is so colorful.

I am currently stitching Mille, the elephant cracker by Stacy Nash.

    1. Thank you, Marilyn. I can’t believe it has been 14 years, even though the last few years I haven’t kept up with it veery well. I am trying.

      Dancer is really gorgeous and so sparkly in person! I can’t wait to get to stitching the other Reindeer. I should have put more of them on my WIPGO board. Maybe next year ;

I finished the blanket, but am disappointed in it. I will have to see what blocking will do to it.

Oh I bet your Elephant cracker is looking so cute! Some day I think I may want to make the Frog Cracker. Though I would probably stress about cutting my cross stitch.

  2. Wow! You have gotten lots of stitching done so far this year. I am so happy the progress to see the colors you chose on the Nora Corbet letters for NOEL. I love the colors that you chose for them. I am looking forward to seeing the N that is on your calendar for April!

    1. Thank you, Line. It is because of WIPGO that I am getting a lot stitched up and because they are Christmas projects. Doing them throughout the year is so much better than deciding in October or November that I want to stitch all of the Christmas things, LOL

    1. Thank you, Anita. It has been difficult keeping up with a lot of things this year, except for my stitching. It is really keeping me grounded right now. Sometimes I want to stitch on so many other things, that I think about ditching WIPGO. The main reason I did WIPGO this year was to do Christmas projects, including get lots of progress done on my 30 something year old Nativity project. I put it on my WIPGO board 4 times and it hasn’t been called yet! And I haven’t gotten a BINGO yet either. So we’ll see how it goes.

And I think you definitely could keep up with a WIPGO. You get to put the projects you want on it, work on them however you like. You could even put your Papercrafting projects on it šŸ˜‰

      1. It’s indeed been difficult to keep up with things lately, Ginny. It’s wonderful that you have WIPGO to help you manage your projects. Still keeping a 30-yr old WIP around and deciding to finally tackle it is so awesome. Go you! I hope you do get to work on it soon.

I love the concept of WIPGO but it’s not for me right now. I’m anticipating not being able to craft much during my work’s busy phase, and thus scrambling to stay ahead of my project commitments for the year. So I’ll just be enjoying your WIPGO progress for a while. šŸ™‚
