My Next Project and More Stash!

I promise you, I am still stitching away.  I can’t share the project, but I am seeing a finish in the near future!  In the mean time, I have still been adding to my stash collection and have even picked out the next project I will start once I finish the model stitch.

That gorgeous mermaid is Nora’s newest release, Mermaid Undine by Mirabilia.  I fell in love with her immediately and ordered her right away. Her colors are magnificent and I just love her tail.   I will be stitching her on 16ct Aida Gina by Hand Dyed Fabrics by Stephaine.  It will be perfect for her.  I am still missing 2 of the Waterlilies threads, in this photo, but they are at my LNS and I will get them before I start her.  I know that I have other projects that I want to work on and finish, but I am really itching for a new start and Undine will be it when I finish my current project.

I have not slowed down in adding new beautiful things to my ever growing stash either.  When I picked up Undine and her supplies at Stitches N Things, a few other things fell into my bag 😉

Let’s see, we have the 1st and 3rd editions to the Snowglobe Mantle by Bent Creek.  Love this piece, but I will definitely be changing out the fabric on this one.  Do not like the brown linen it came with.  I’m sure I have something in my stash that will work out wonderfully.  Noel by T. A. Smith Designs, Trick or Treat by Needle Bling Designs, Summer Laguna Mermaid by Nora Corbett, some petite braids for the PR SAL, a tea pot needle minder (I love tea pots) and Santa Claus Weeks Dye Threads that I want to try on a project.

These beauties I received from my good friend, Annie.  She is such a sweetie.  I love all the gifties she sent:

Last week I received these beauties from Stephanie’s 4th of July sale along with my August Fabric of the Month.  All are 16ct Aida and are gorgeous!

From top left, clockwise, we have Soaring Dragonfly, Pretty in Pink, Oberon, Storm, Silvermist, and Hexing.  I can’t wait to stitch on them all some day.

And my most recent additions are a magazine that hubby picked up for me.  He works near a Barnes and Noble and new I was waiting for this issue to hit the stands.

Joan Elliott’s Belle de Mer is exquisite! Can’t wait to stitch this one someday, too and I already have the perfect fabric for her.  And the Halloween pattern I received in the mail yesterday is an Alessandra Adelaide Needleworks pattern and I LOVE it!  I have been wanting to stitch one of her designs.  She had a rough time on her face book group from a not so nice individual and I wanted to show my support of her work.  There are several other designs by her that I want to stitch, too, but I settled for this one for now.

So, there you have it.  All of my new stash.  Lots of things for me to dream about stitching one day.  For now I will keep plugging away at the model stitch.  I’d love to know what you have added to your stash lately??

My Round Robin Arrives Home

Hi.  Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. I am still stitching, just can’t post what I am stitching right now.  But I do have a share.  My Asian Round Robin arrived home this week.

100_7970It really turned out beautiful.  When I get time, I have to find an Alphabet to add a title before I get it framed.  It’s so bright and colorful and did I mention it’s beautiful?  The girls did an excellent job in stitching the lovely ladies.  They are all Joan Elliott designs and they are stitched on Stephanie’s Mocha Delight 28ct Jobelan.

So…what are you stitching on today?

Two Completed Projects

I feel like I am getting things accomplished.  Yesterday I finished another block on a Round Robin.

Spring Garden Fairy

This is Joan Elliott’s Spring Garden Fairy.  She is in the March 2014 issue of Cross Stitch and Needlework magazine.  She was a fun, easy stitch.  I usually hate stitching the hair on JE’s fairies, but this one was super simple.  I love the way she turned out.  I stitched her on Johanna’s Round Robin.   She is going to love getting this one back.  Here it is in full:

Johannas JE Round RobinSuch a beautiful RR.  Everyone did a great job on this one.  So sweet and sparkly.  I will be putting in the mail to Johanna soon..well, maybe..yeah I will return it 🙂

I also finished this pidge scarf for a sweet stitchy friend.

Pink and Plum Pidge for KarenShe received it in the mail yesterday and loves it.  I knitted it using Deborah Norville’s Serenity Chunky weight yarn. When I first started knitting it, I thought it may be a bit too bulky.  But once finished, I think it turned out nice and will definitely be warm during this cold winter.  I need to knit myself one in reds to match my coat.  The buttons took me a bit to find, but once I saw these, I knew they would be perfect.

So, 2 more projects off of my list.  Now on to the next Round Robin piece.  What are you trying to  finish up?

Spring, Spring and Spring?

Weird title, huh?  Well, I have sort of a Spring theme going on.  First, I have been working on Spring Garden Fairy on Johanna‘s Round Robin.

Progress on Spring Garden FariyShe is Joan Elliott’s Spring Garden Fairy that is featured in the current issue of Cross Stitch and Needlework.  Johanna asked if I would like to stitch her on her Round Robin and I am so glad I am.  So far she has been a pretty easy stitch and she is so sweet.  Even the hair in this one has been no problem.  Can’t wait to finish her.

On Saturday, February 1, I started Lavender & Lace’s Angel of Spring:

Start on Angel of Spring

That is all the progress I made on this one.  I wanted to start this one with Tanya, a stitching friend , and I am so glad I was able to.  After many fabric changes and problems with scroll frames, this one finally came to life.  I will have to put her down and finish the RR, but I will pick her up again soon.

And for the final “Spring”, where is the real Spring?  Here in Michigan we broke a record for the most snowfall in any month this year.  Can I say that I am so sick of snow and winter? And we are expecting 2 more snow storms this week 😦  I have no idea where hubby and son are going to pile up more snow.  I think a lot of people are saying that this year.  So…where is Spring?  Is is just around the corner?

What are you stitching these days?

Last Finish of 2013 and First Finish of 2014

Now that Christmas is over, I can show you the last project I finished in 2013.

Carol with her wine stitchThis is my friend Carol.  I made her this Wine A Little stitch by Sue Hillis Designs, Inc. I tried framing it myself…what a disaster.  Let’s just say I am leaving the framing to the professionals.  I’ll take it into Stitches N Things sometime this month.  It was a pretty quick stitch and even came with the little wine bottle charm.

My first finish of 2014 is Iris Fairy on Debbie’s Joan Elliott Round Robin.

Iris on Debbie's RRShe turned out very pretty with lots of sparkle.  Someday I will have to stitch her in full.  While I wait for the next Round Robin to come my way, I will be working on “The Angel” and will get her done this year. And since it is -35 degrees out, I think it’s a good time to cover up with a blanket and do some stitching.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I have been up to.  What are you stitching on?

A Butterfly finish and some Goodies

I’m so happy!  I have a finish!  And by today’s deadline for mailing, too!  Yay!  I stitched Joan Elliott’s  Butterfly Fairy on Rachel’s Round Robin.  She turned out lovely!

Butterfly Fairy on Rachel's RRHer hair was a crazy mess and I didn’t think I would ever get it done, but I did and it’s lovely.  Hubby really likes this one and has asked that I stitch in full.  I do believe he said that about the last JE fairy I stitched.  I will add it to my future list of things to do 🙂

Here is the RR in full:

Rachel's RRIt’s a beautiful piece and Rachel is going to love it when she sees it.  So many sparkly beads!  Amazing!

I received this lovely piece of fabric in my mailbox yesterday:

Lunar EclipseIt’s Lunar Eclipse 16 ct Aida by Stephanie. I can’t wait to see what I end up putting on this one.  Though it’s really more green than blue.

I also received these beauties from Silkweaver on Monday:

More Silkweaver stashFrom top to bottom we have: Hocus Pocus 14ct Aida, Spellbound in 18ct Aida which I plan to use for The Gift, Spooky Day Gray in 14ct Aida, Witch’s Brew in 14 ct Aida and Spooky Day Grey in 28ct Lugana.  They are all lovely.

Last night I put a few stitches into Ella after finishing Butterfly Fairy.  It was a nice change.  Especially to work on Aida again.  Well, that’s all for today.  I’d love to hear what you are working on or what goodies you have acquired lately.

Geisha · Joan Elliott Round Robin

Gorgeous Geisha!

I finished stitching Eastern Promise for Julie’s Round Robin.  Here she is:

Eastern Promise Geisha

This photo really does not do it justice.  I just can’t seem to photograph my stitching very well lately.  Anyway, she turned out beautifully!  I love the colors.  I wasn’t sure about the orange background at first, but I do love it.  I have this Geisha to be stitched on my Round Robin as well, so I am glad to see that the orange color is not really a bad color after all.  Here is Julie’s Round Robin so far:

Julies RRIt is going to be sooooo beautiful when it is finished.  What are you stitching on today?

A Stitchy Weekend

I was able to get quite a bit of stitching in this holiday weekend.  Here is my progress on Julie’s RR:

Progress on Eastern Promise

Sorry about the bad photo.  Maybe I get too close to the design when taking  a picture.  I will make a note of that for when I take my final photo.  As you can see, I am almost done.  The colors are gorgeous!  Her face is a little off as she doesn’t have a nose or lips, but that will come when I do the outlining.  I love her and can’t wait to finish her.  Maybe tonight.

I also added a few stitches to the Passione Ricamo Stitch A Long, but not enough to take a picture.  Only about 35-40 sts.  Section 5 just came out on the 1st and I need to catch up as I haven’t done sections 3 or 4.  Section 3 should go pretty fast, but 4 and 5 will take me a bit.  I hope I can get caught back up before section 6 comes out.

I did get a little knitting done this weekend also.  Working on my next pidge scarf for Sue.

multicolor pidge

I LOVE this yarn!  It is Kudo by Plymouth Yarns.  I love how the stripes form as I knit along.  This is a worsted weight yarn and the pattern is for a chunky yarn.  I tried adding some stitches to make it wider, but for some reason, I could not get it to work out.  There really isn’t a pattern  that would need to have a certain amount of stitches added to make it come out properly, but for some reason I had to keep pulling it out and starting over-many, many times.  When I casted on the required amount of stitches and continued knitting, I had no problem.  I should have gone down a size or 2 in needles, but I knew that would make it too narrow.  So I have continued on and will see how Sue likes it when I am finished.  I did pick up a pattern for a pidge scarf when I was on vacation last month.  It requires worsted weight, so I will try it out and see how it turns out.

So that was my stitchy weekend.  I had fun just stitching (and laundry) all weekend.  How was your weekend?

Hand Dyed Obsession and RR progress

I think the title speaks for the photos.

My fabric storageThis is an under the bed storage box that I have all of my hand dyed fabrics in. I remember when I didn’t have any hand dyes, and now I am obsessed with buying them.  And I have plans for every one 😉  Well, most of them.  Some may be just too pretty to stitch on right now.  But I have them on hand when I need.  I am not a patient person, so waiting for hand dyed fabric to come in the mail is very hard for me.  So now I have a pretty good stash.

some of stephanies fabricsJust some of my  Hand Dyed Fabrics by Stephanie.

Silkweaver fabrics

Some from Silkweaver.  Just can’t seem to stay away from their auctions 🙂

PTP fabricsA few from Picture This Plus from last years sale.

Liberty and CalypsoThese are my 2 latest fabrics from Stephanie. On the left is her limited edition Liberty and on the right is Calypso.  Both are 16ct Aida and both are gorgeous!!  Not sure what I am going to put on Liberty, but Calypso is perfect for a mermaid 😉

And here is what I am currently working on.  When I can stay awake that is.  I have been getting up at 5:00 am 4-5 days a week to walk with a friend and it has been really kicking my butt.  Can’t seem to stay awake at night to stitch.  Hence the very little progress.

Geisha on Julies RRThis is going to be Joan Elliott’s Eastern Promise on Julie’s Asian RR. Sorry for the bad photo, but the colors are truly bright and beautiful and Julie’s fabric is a blue sky with a touch of tan here and there.  It’s gorgeous!

That is my update for now.  Thank you for visiting and have a safe and wonderful Labor Day weekend.

Another Round Robin Finish

It’s been a crazy, busy with a whole lot of nothing the last couple of weeks.  But somehow I managed to finish stitching on Kaye’s Round Robin:

JE Spring Fairy on Kayes RRThis is Joan Elliott’s Spring Fairy.  She turned out to be a sweet stitch.  She does have quite a bit of confetti stitching in her hair, but it was not so bad.  I usually don’t like to stitch on anything but Aida, and especially linen.  But Kaye’s fabric was such a breeze to stitch on.  It’s coming along nicely and will be a lovely fairy piece when finished.  Here is what the entire project looks like so far.

Kay's JE RRJust lovely.  Can’t wait to see it finished. Thanks for stopping by 🙂
