Crazy Busy, But I’m Still Stitching

Wow!  I can’t believe it’s been so long since my last post!  And where did June go?  I swear just the other day it was June 1 and now here we are in July!  Summer please slow down 🙂  So even though I have been going at full speed almost every day the last few weeks, I have managed to get my regular stitching in 🙂  So here is what I have been up to:

Moon Sweet Moon start

Here is where I am with Moon, Sweet Moon, Mystery SAL by Passione Ricamo.  I am stitching her on 16ct Aida OOAK from Fantasy Dyed Fabrics.  It is actually a gray color with hints of purple.  Bad photo, sorry.  It is really beautiful in person. Unfortunately, this is no longer a SAL.  Someone has passed the first few sections onto the internet, illegally, so Laura ended the SAL.  So sad for someone to do this.  She has released the full pattern to each person that signed up, with watermarked pattern in their name.  This is how it will look when finished:

It is so beautiful and I am so sad to see it end as a SAL.  It is now available for purchase on Laura’s website if you are wanting to stitch this beauty.  You can find it here. I am waiting on threads for the moon, so I have put her aside and picked up this one:

Mystery Sampler April started

This is the Linen and Threads Mystery Sampler.  I can’t begin to tell you how I much I LOVE stitching on this piece.  I have just started stitching the April section, so I am a bit behind.  But it is such a relaxing stitch.  I am using Sullivan’s variegated thread London Fog and DMC 3888.  The fabric is 16ct Aida Castleview by Silkweaver.  I am hoping to get this caught up before getting back to something else or starting something else.  If you would like to stitch this piece, it is a FREE SAL put out by Linen and Threads and the January through July sections are on their website.  Here is another view:

I have also been adding a row or two, now and then on my Temperature blanket.  I am somewhere at the beginning of April and here is how it is looking so far:

I’ve added another row of yellow and a row of light purple.  Hoping there will be more of these colors as I am really getting bored of the darker ones.  This is nice to work on when I have a few minutes here and there.  It is getting too big to carry around, so I will keep adding to it now and then and hope to also get caught up with it, too.

In my last post I told you briefly about a new stamp obsession of mine.  Here are some cards using products from Heartfelt Creations:

Here is a close-up of those beautiful 3-d flowers!

And this one is my favorite:

I am having such fun making 3-d flowers with glitter, and frosting and beaded centers.  I need to play more 🙂  I have also added these 3-d flowers to my scrapbook pages.  I will have to get photos of those for next time.  Right now it’s time to go play 🙂

  1. You certainly have been busy — you are making me tired just looking at all you have accomplished. I too am working on the Linen and Threads Sampler. I am just starting the row with the trees. I have also been dyeing fabrics as usual. And have found a new hobby: Diamond Painting. Have a great summer Ginny!

    1. I have been so busy I can’t even begin to know where time has gone. And I thought things were going to slow down once the kids were out of school 😛 Silly me. I am trying to take one day at a time and enjoy whatever I do or work on. I totally enjoy the Mystery Sampler. I know you are enjoying it, too and it sounds like you are already catching up to me 😉 I want to try the Diamond Painting even more every time you mention it. Maybe this summer I will get a chance. I hope you summer is a great one, too 🙂

  2. The PR SAL piece is going to be so pretty.
I tried buying it, but my charge would not go through. 😦
Sad that someone ruined it for everyone.
Your L&T SAL is so pretty, love the colors.
    Your cards are beautiful.
    You’ve been busy!

    1. Thank you, Marilyn. When my threads come in, I will get back to Moon Sweet Moon. It is really sad that someone did that to Laura. Do you have a paypal account? I find that is the best way to purchase on-line. You can attach it to your CC or bank card. It is a really beautiful pattern and I do hope that you are able to get it in the future. For now I will continue with the L & T SAL. It is so relaxing stitching on that piece. No worry about changing colors of threads (unless you want to) It is really stress free. I have been busy. I am hoping to get a little down time this week and weekend. Maybe get outside and weed :O Maybe not, LOL

    1. Thanks, Marsha. Arrianna flowers and dies are on my wish list. I love the look of the 3-d flowers. So beautiful. The ones that I showed are the Dogwood with the dove and the other is Botanical Rose. Both are fabulous for 3-d flower making.

  5. Beautiful stitching: Moon is lovely and the colours of the L&T SAL are so soothing. It is sad that someone can be so mean as to give away something they are not entitled to give away. Karma will get them. I hope you can more time to stitch next month.

    1. Thank you, Christine. I am really, really enjoying the Mystery Sampler. I can’t even begin to tell you how amazingly relaxing this piece is. Just love it! It is sad that someone did that to Laura. Passing around a pattern that isn’t theirs 😦 And they hacked her computer. I do hope that Karma will come back to bite them. Enjoy your stitchy time, too 🙂

  6. wow – you have been busy! Love the stitching, especially that sampler, I have loved that since you started it. I might have to go get that free SAL pattern…

  7. Thank you, Salpal1. You definitely should download the Sampler charts for a future project. The owner says they will be on their site at least until the end of December. So make sure you go back every first of the month to get the new sections. I am already thinking about doing it again in different color combinations and solid colors.

  9. I’ve been wondering what you’d been up to. ☺ Glad to hear from you.
I’m loving the Linen and Threads sampler, makes me want to start a cross stitch project every time. ☺ But it’s sad to hear about the Moon Sweet Moon one.
Hopefully the temperature changes enough to make for some colorful rows in the blanket.
And I love the flowers in the cards!

    1. That’s nice of you to wonder about me, Anita 🙂 I think for 12 days straight, I was gone from my house, everyday, all day or almost all day. A couple days were traveling. It was crazy! I just love the Sampler. I can’t even begin to explain how relaxing it is. Nothing like I have every felt in my stitching. I am so enjoying it. You should definitely save or print out the sections just in case you decide to do it. The site says they will be available at least until the end of December. I am hoping to get through April on my blanket and then into some steady summery colors. I am really sick of the greens 😉 Thank you for your sweet comments about my projects and taking the time to visit me 🙂

  10. Awesome to see your post, and see how busy you have been. Just amazing. I still adore the sampler you are working on. Each time I see it, it looks even prettier. Such an interesting piece.
Enjoy the summer and glorious days, before you know it, it will be cooler again.
Enjoy your crafting and take care. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Joey. I have been overwhelmed with my projects lately. I have many started and want to start many more and want to finish some things. So my focus has been on the sampler for now, with crocheting a bit on the temperature blanket here and there, too. I can’t believe that it is mid July already and you are right; cooler temps will be here before I know it. I had better enjoy the sun a little bit more 😉 Have fun with your crafting, too 🙂

  11. Hi Ginny!!! Thanks for checking in on me with the comment on my blog. I have been so MIA that I forgot my login in order to comment back!!! I guess that’s a really bad sign.

Your work looks amazing as always. I LOVE the 3D flowers. They look gorgeous.

Things have been good here… just so busy as we bought a new house, sold our old one, and moved! Of course, that was alongside all of the usual busy-ness of life. I hope to get back to stitching and blogging and reading blogs soon!!! Miss seeing what you’re up to!

  12. Oh wow!!😮❤️ love love the cards you have made. I have always wanted to get into card making, but I don’t have space or the money to get all the stuff I would probably want to get.

    1. Thank you ❤ I have gotten a bit out of my card making since I stopped doing classes this year. But I will get back to it soon. Especially to make my Christmas cards. I had better start thinking about that, huh? Stamping and scrapbooking does take up quite a bit of space. My craft room is filled with that stuff. So none of my cross stitch or knitting stuff is able to fit in there. Some day I would like to downsize the papercrafting stuff so that I can get all of my crafting things in one room, but not sure that will ever happen. You can always start out light with the card making. Maybe make some Christmas cards or some Hello cards.
