Last week I finished section 13 of the Passione Ricamo SAL #4. I am feeling much better after my surgery and am able to stitch on my scroll frames once again. I stitched like crazy on this section so I can get caught up. I’ve been working on section 14 this week and am just about finished. I will post pictures soon. Section 15 was released over the weekend, so I have more catching up to do. This is a busy time of year for me as Stampin’ Up! Is nearing the end of the catalog year, so I am pulling retired stamps and accessories and getting ready for new product. My craft room is a mess! Tomorrow is Mega Meet, an awesome scrapbook convention. I will be going there to see what new stuff I can’t live without ;). I am also trying to squeeze some scrapbook time in. So, that is what I have been up to. What are you up to this time of year?

Pink Princess, My New Start
Another new start. Yep. I received the awesome piece of fabric in the mail on Saturday evening. It is the March Fabric Of The Month at Hand Dyed Fabrics by Stephanie. It is called Tintagel and it is my most favorite piece of hand dyed fabric! Mine is in 16ct Aida. I am usually not drawn to green, but this is heavenly with just a smidge of pink and blue here and there. As soon as I received it, I scanned it into my computer and started playing in The Viewer. Hubby said I have to stitch a woodsy fairy on it. So I searched fairy and it brought up all the designs with fairy. Most did not look good on this fabric. Then when I put Passione Ricamo’s Dawn, the Fairy of Grace on it, BAM! That is the one!! Hubby said that without the wings she would look like a princess, so of course I knew for sure it’s the one I have to do. He took off her wings and showed me this:
I am in LOVE! This is the sweetest! I call her my Pink Princess. So I gathered all of my things and started her on Tuesday night. I love stitching on this one. Since I finished all the hair on the Mystery Stitch Along, I will stitch on this one until the next section of the SAL comes out.
What project have you been over the moon in love with?
Late Night Stitching
It is 1:10 a.m. and I just couldn’t stop stitching until I completed section 12 of the Passione Ricamo Mystery SAL. And I have to say, that is a lot of hair! Beautiful, gorgeous hair, but a lot of it! Only 4 more sections to go and then finally a mermaid face will be revealed. I can’t wait! I am very proud of myself for keeping up with this one. Section 13 will be released on Monday, so I have a few more days to work on a new project that I started yesterday. I will post more about that project tomorrow. For now it is time for me to get to bed and get some sleep! Sweet Mermaid dreams 🙂
Happy Blogaversary Give-away
Today is my 3 year anniversary since starting my stitchy blog. It has been a fun ride and I have met so many wonderful people. I started this blog as a way to keep track of my projects and share my passion for stitching. So, to celebrate my anniversary, I have a nice little giveaway that you can win. Simply leave me a comment on this post telling me which of my blog posts is your favorite or which one of my projects is your favorite. I will draw one name to win the following prize:
The prize package includes a piece of 32ct Lugana Solo from Silkweaver measuring 16 x 25 ( a definite mistake in ordering as I don’t stitch on 32ct, but the fabric is beautiful!), The February 2015 issue of Just Cross Stitch Magazine (I renewed my subscription and received this one after I had purchased it) My favorite model stitcher stitched the cover 😉 A package of DMC Color Variations-the Blue Lagoon Collection. I liked the colors so much I purchased it twice; a couple of Weeks Dye Works threads and 3 packages of Mill Hill beads.
So leave me a comment on this post by March 31, 2015 and I will draw a name from all entries on April 1 and it won’t be a joke 🙂
New Start – Moon Flowers
Last night I started a new project; Moon Flowers by Mirabilia. I am stitching her on 16ct Aida Black Magic by Under the Sea fabrics. This fabric turned out exactly how I envisioned it for Moon Flowers. I am typically not a dark fabric kind of gal, but when I first saw Moon Flowers, I knew Black Magic would be the perfect fabric. And Leslie didn’t disappoint. I am so excited to start stitching on this one. What new project are you looking forward to getting started on?
Section 11 Completed and Trunk of Fabrics
Last night I completed section 11 on the Passione Ricamo Mystery SAL. Just in time for section 12 to be released on Monday. It will be more hair. We have already been given a sneak peek. I am so proud of myself for keeping up on this one. I can’t wait to see the mermaid come to life.
I have to share something my hubby purchased for me this week.
It is a beautiful trunk. He bought it at Joann Fabrics. And guess what I put inside??
FABRIC! Yep, all of my Hand Dyes by Stephanie, Under The Sea fabrics, Picture This Plus fabrics and a few Sunny Dyes fabrics and a couple of afghans and towels that can be stitched on. All of my Silk Weaver fabrics are in another container. I am so geeked about my new Trunk of Fabrics! And as you can see, I have room to grow 😉
What are you stitching on today?
A Mermaid and Her Sparkly Chandelier
I finished Mirabilia’s Siren and the Shipwreck last night and just LOVE how she turned out.
Her colors are so beautiful and that chandelier is so full of beads that make it sparkle so beautifully when the light hits it just right. If you click on the second picture, I swear it looks like the chandelier is lit up! I am so happy for this finish. Can’t wait to get her framed and then I will have to find a place to hang her. I stitched her on 16 ct Aida Under The Sea by Sunny Dyes Fabrics.
What are you hoping to finish soon?
I Am Making Stitchy Progress
I finished sections 9 and 10 of the Passione Ricamo SAL#4. I am patiently waiting for step 11 to be released on March 9. Here is how I left my piece:
On the right is the purple mermaid tail! So excited for this one! I love the sparkly waves, too.
I have also put a few stitches into Fairy Dust.
And now I am working on Siren and the Shipwreck. She is really moving along.
She is looking a little ghostly without all of the details. I think once I finish her hair, I will be able to start the back stitching and beading. She has a lot of bling in her. Especially the chandelier. Can’t wait!! She has really been a fun, easy, relaxing stitch and I am loving stitching on her again. Which one of your stitch projects was or is a fun stitch for you?
Birthday Mail!
Some items that I ordered from Stitches N Things during my birthday shopping spree arrived this week. And when Lou Anne called to let me know, I just had to add the 2 new Nora Corbett designs and their bead packs to the stash. The top one is Coral Charms and the pixie is Wisteria. The white fabric is for Mirabilia‘s Christmas in London and the magazine and threads are for the Snowman Afghan from Stoney Creek. I can’t wait to start both of these projects.
I received these beauties from my BSF (Best Stitchy Friend) Johanna. She made the heart on the frame and the Dragon’s Eye on the table, from clay. She is so talented! I’ll have to take a better picture of the Dragon’s eye. It really is amazing! The mermaid box is so sweet! She knows me so well. I can’t wait to find something special to put inside. The frame is for holding all of my needle minders. She added a magnet to the frog making him a great needle minder. Now to find my 3 or 4 others to put on here and know where they are at all times 🙂
And lastly, this isn’t Birthday mail, but I did receive it on my birthday 🙂 It is my Fabric Of the Month from Stephanie. It is Fathom’s Below, 16ct Aida. It is perfect for a mermaid. I wonder which one I will stitch on it…
I also received a Gift Certificate for 123 Stitch from my good stitchy friend Annie. I see more stitchy stuff in my future!
So, what are you stitching on today?
My First Finish For 2015!
I did it! I finally finished Autumn Snowman on January 19. Here he is:
I still have to turn him into a bellpull, but for now, the stitching is finished and I am one happy camper! The other night I picked up this which I had started in December for hubby. I had only put a couple of stitches in until this week:
It is Fairy Dust by Nimue and hubby loved it when he saw it in a Local needlework shop. I am stitching it on a Silkweaver Solo fabric, in 16ct Aida. It shouldn’t take me too long to stitch, but I am still keeping up with the PR SAL and section 8 arrived in my email box yesterday. I will show progress on that when I am finished stitching. Come back tomorrow to see all of my Birthday mail that arrived in the last few days. Lots of fun things!
