Back To My Personal Stitching

I finished the model stitch I was working on and it turned out beautiful!  It was about a 6 1/2 month journey from start to finish.  Now it’s time to get back to my personal stitching.  I didn’t start Undine  as planned, instead I picked up a piece that has been calling to me since I had to put it down; the Passione Ricamo Mystery Stitch A Long.

I finished section 1last night and had to unscroll it to show you.  It is going to be a gorgeous, gorgeous piece! I am stitching it on 16ct Aida Nantucket Sky by Hand Dyed Fabrics by Stephanie.

Passione Ricamo has a new Mystery Stitch A Long starting on November 3.  It’s Called “Under the Moonlight” and I am sure it will be another beautiful design.  I am all ready to start that one, too.

The fabric is another gorgeous fabric from Stephanie called Neverland Sea.  It is also 16ct Aida and it is just beautiful in person!  My specialty threads arrived from Stitches N Things last week, and my new huge scroll frame arrived on Monday from Stitcher’s Paradise.  So I am all set to begin another adventure from Passione Ricamo.  I am sure that I will be starting Mirabilia’s Mermaid Undine in the very near future, too.

So, that is what I have been up to.  What are you currently stitching on?

My Mermaid Is Coming Alive…

100_7828Well, she is starting to look like a mermaid.  This is my progress so far.  Almost done with section 5. But now I have to put her away for a while and work on something else.  I look forward to the day when I can pick her back up again.  So, what are you stitching on today?

There’s a New SAL Coming!

I finished my last Round Robin last week.  I am taking a break from Round Robins for a while to do some personal stitching.  I can’t post it yet until the recipient receives it, but I will when that happens.

So I picked up my Ella to stitch on for a few nights…stitch and rip, stitch and rip.  Then I heard the news that Passione Ricamo was opening a new Stitch-A-Long.  It is open now to purchase and, YES, of course I am going to do it! I haven’t finished the last Mermaid SAL, but YES I want to do another one! So I signed up and received my list of materials.  We have no idea what it is, but it is to celebrate the designers 20 years designing.  I know it will be beautiful.  I already have my fabric and threads:

Floss toss for PR SAL

I had purchased this fabric from Stephanie for Lavender & Lace’s Angel of Spring.  It is Nantucket Sky in 16ct Aida. But when I was getting ready to start it, I was afraid the wings would not show up well.  Passione Ricamo’s Laura, suggested a few of Stephanie’s hand dyed fabrics for the SAL and Nantucket Sky was one of them.  And luckily I have a 26 x 36 piece as according to the stitch count, I will need a 25 x 33.5 piece.  I can’t wait to see how a PR design looks on Aida.  I am so excited about this SAL. If you are interested in joining, you have time.  The first section won’t be released until March 25th, so there is still time to go to the  Passione Ricamo site and sign up.

So I pulled out the Mermaid SAL last night and decided I need to get that going and hopefully finish as I will need the scroll frame it is on.  I will post a picture of my mermaid progress later this week.  You can see my original start on this one here. Have you ever done a Stitch A Long?

My Stitching Progress

I finished section 2 of the Passione Ricamo Mystery SAL yesterday.

Section 2 completedI am saving the beading until last and section 2 has lots of beads.  So it doesn’t look like I have added much.  But since I use a scroll frame and have to have it drum tight to stitch, I don’t want to roll over my beads over the next 4 or more months.  There will be a lot of beads to add at the end, but it will be worth it.

See my lovely new scroll rod cover at the top?  They were gifted to me by my sweet,  stitchy friend, Karen.  Very mermaidish in color and perfect for my really big table top scroll frame.   Now I have a set of covers for all my different sized scroll frames.  Thank you so much, Karen.  I will think of you every time I stitch 🙂

As promised, I also have a progress photo of Siren.  Here she is as of this morning.

progress on SirenShe really is a nice relaxing stitch.  On 16ct Aida, with no magnifier and the colors are lovely!  I wish I could stitch on her 24/7 until she is finished.  That is what I have been up to over the last few days.  Thanks for visiting 🙂
