First Finish for 2017

finished-j

I finished this sweet little fairy last night.  I just love how she turned out.  And she was a pretty quick stitch, too.  Taking me only 11 days to complete.  She is Nora Corbett’s Fairy letter J and I used the conversion from The Rocking Horse.  Stitched on 16ct Aida Sage from Hand Dyed Fabrics By Stephanie.

This morning, I found this on my porch.

I had posted on my facebook page earlier in the week that I wanted seashells instead of snowflakes.  And some sweet person actually brought me seashells and just made my day.  So thank you to the sweet fairy who left me seashells. I just love them ❤ My heart is so filled with joy from such kindness.

    1. Thank you, Sandra. I know what you mean about wanting to start something new. I need to work on WIP’s, too, but there is a reason I needed to start this one and get it done before summer. So I started the O last night and am hoping she is as quick a stitch as the J. Good luck with your WIP’s.

  1. Love how she turned out, Ginny! You’re right, I like the pink in the dress better than the green that it was earlier.
And it’s so sweet of this secret Santa to leave you a gift! ☺

  2. Oh, I love how it turned out. I think I like all the beading the best, espesually the red beading all around the little fairy. I can’t wait to see what the other two letters look like.

  3. Your fairy is absolutely beautiful. Well done. And so many little beads. I adore your work.
I could not help but smile when I saw your beach sand and seashells. I have a collection of sand and shells in my bathroom window. Each time we visit the coast for a holiday, I bring back a bottle of sand from the beach and shells I could manage to find. They get bottled and tagged and live in the window to remind me each day of the sun and surf and sea and good times.
I am sure your shells and sand will bring you the same smiles.
    Have a great week. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Joey. I do love all the little beads and I must say, fairy was so much easier to bead than mermaid. I enjoyed stitching this little fairy and now I am on the the “O”. It is also a pleasant stitch. I do love the seashells left by my sweet anonymous friend. I look at them and long for summer. They bring a smile to my face every time I see them. Your sand and shell collection sounds wonderful. Such a sweet idea.

    1. Thank you, Fawn. I am loving stitching these little fairies. They go so quickly! I have 2 finishes in January already! Really makes me feel like I am accomplishing something. The shell jar is so sweet and I smile every time I walk by it. I start dreaming of the beach and mermaids and looking for shells and sea glass on the beach. Ahhhh. Thank you for stopping by ❤
