August Peridot Fairy start

Here is my start on Mirabilia’s August Fairy:

It’s not much, but it felt so good to start a new project.  I love the colors in her wings already. Here is a closer look.

I hope to get some more stitching done on this one this weekend.  Have a great holiday weekend.  Thanks for stopping in to see what I am stitching.

Itching To Start Something New

I finally got the call that my order for Mirabilia’s August Fairy was in yesterday.  So guess what I did today? Yep, jumped in the car this morning and drove the 45 minutes to my LNS.  Here is what I picked up:

I decided to stitch her on the suggested Milk Chocolate, but in 16ct Aida.  I have been wanting to start something new for some time now and when this fairy came out, I knew it had to be my next project.  I am going to stitch it for my Mom whose birthday is in August.  I also picked up the white 20ct Lugana fabrics for my Seasonal Banners .  I don’t know if you can see in the photo, but I have already stitched around the edges of my fabrics and the Milk Chocolate is already on a scroll frame ready to be stitched on tonight.  I am working on RR, but I will put it down tonight to get a start on August Peridot Fairy.  As my title says, I have been itching to start a new project and tonight is the night.  I will show my start tomorrow.  Happy stitching!

A Fairy For Barb

This is June’s Pearl Fairy.  I stitched her in 2001 for someone special.  Sorry for the photo.  It’s a scan of the photo I took of the piece before shipping it to the recipient for her birthday in June 2001.  She is currently hanging in my dad’s house and I do hope to get it back one day as Barb passed away a year ago.  The frame was perfect.  I had picked up 2 frames at a crafter’s garage sale several years prior to stitching this.  It was an old wooden frame that the crafter painted gold and drizzled black and gold paint over.  When I purchased the pattern for this fairy, I knew that she would be perfect in this frame.  The other frame I have is a black rectangle frame with gold drizzling that I think will be perfect for Lady Alexandra.  This fairy is stitched on 16ct white Aida.  I know it looks pink in the photo, but it is actually white.

Fairy Flora

Good morning my stitching friends.  I am afraid I have been missing in action for the last few weeks.  It’s just been a busy time for me with my son just finishing up track, the end of school nearing, and catalog transition for Stampin’ Up!  So I am afraid that I don’t have any updates to my stitching projects as I haven’t been able to stitch much.  I did put the Mediterranean Mermaid in to be framed yesterday and will post a photo when I get her back. I also picked up a few things and ordered a few things, so I will share those later this week.   Today I thought I would share another one of my finishes from a while back.  She is Fairy Flora:

I finished stitching her up in 1995.  She is stitched on 28ct Jobelan, a pretty shade of blue.  It was the first time I stitched on 28ct fabric.  Well, it’s going to be a warm one here in Michigan today, so I need to finish the laundry before it gets too hot in the house.  I’m hoping to pick up my needle tonight and add a few stitches to something.  I lhope that your needle is gliding through fabric today, too.
